Free Facebook Ads
Here’s a little treat for anyone that wants $200 in free FaceBook advertising…
The treat is, obviously, $200 worth of coupon codes that work at FaceBook. I forgot to post about this a while back, and there was no reason because other people did, but I have a neat trick to add. 
But first, here are the coupon codes:

(I think one expired in July, but two of them should still work for $50 each.)
All you have to do is go into your FaceBook account, click “Advertising” in the footer, then the “Billing” link, and then the “Funding Sources” tab. Then click “Enter Coupon Code” in the bottom right and you can add the coupons.
Now for another $100 in free ads, click here to add the Visa Business application to your Facebook profile.
But here’s the trick:
They want you to fill out a business profile when you sign-up, and you might think you have to give them all your personal info to get the $100. Well, you don’t!
Just add the application, and when it gets to the screen for filling out your profile, just close the page.
Then open up your email and Facebook will have already sent you the coupon code for $100 of free ads, courtesy of the Visa Business app!
Easy as pie! Just remember, everything expires in October though, so get to it!
Today’s Lesson: The reason I posted these codes, even though I’m not sure if they still work, is because there is still an important lesson here with the Visa business application. That lesson is to always be on the lookout for system inefficiencies that you can exploit.

I had a client run some ads with FaceBook and there were very little clicks and almost no conversion.
Has anyone had any luck with FaceBook?
I have seen many people placing there ads on Face book but really can’t figure out how they do that stuff. But now i think i know
. Now i am planning to try it my self.

FaceBook Ads is a pain in the ass. CTR and conversions are typically very low, although you can get them to “low” (instead of “very low”) if you’re lucky. It just takes a lot of testing.
Facebook ads are a terrible value, in my personal experience (using the free Visa ad credit
). Yes, you can hyper-target (in some cases) but no one ever “sees” the ads, much less clicks on them (and I can’t imagine they convert worth crap either). AdWords PPC is much more effective than Facebook ads.

Update : The coupon codes are not working anymore. Most likely they have been detected by Facebook.

There can be no denying that face book is making an impact and that too in a big way. This is mainly because of the vast reach that it has and many more people trying to cash in on this.
I haves used face book ads quite well to my advantage many times and it has yielded positive results almost all the time.

useful when it comes to promoting your brand. Even Digg is really useful when it comes to creating a name for your brand on the net.
I think it is always a safe bet considering the number of users involved, there has to be a group of people interested in what you say.
As for the ads, I dont think that is the way to approach facebook.

Facebook is one place that I am trying to grow in and I think it is a gold mine if you dig it right. Ads are a great tool to have.
Too bad the coupons don’t work anymore. Even though the conversion rate is very low on Facebook, it’s always good for branding to spread your name and image around so why not doing it if it’s free?
yea yi tried the coupons they don’t work anymore too late in posting…. however i never figured out why people click so less on facebook when every now and then a new ad pop ups in either right or the left side of the home page or any other page

I had a coupon and I tried using Facebook ads and they are horrible. They seem to reject everything and are just a pain to deal with. I’d just rather stick with AdWords.

Facebook ads are hard to convert. It’s not impossible, but hard. Unlike Google, Yahoo, or other search engines, with Facebook, you have to market yourself to others. Users in Facebook do not typically search for things other than friends. I use Facebook and it’s rare I search for things other than friends. Sometimes I search for groups, but that’s all.
i think i miss the chance, yes agree tough to convert but sometime it works, by the hope next time I’ll get benefit.

Here’s a list of tested, working coupons as of Jan 8,2008. It seems like all the $25 coupons only work when the Ad application has just been added. As always, YMMV.
Except the visa one, none of the other codes still work.

FB advertising is a hot topic right now. Haven’t heard many people having good luck with it yet. Although, free advertising is always good!

Nice! 200 bucks worth of free ads, sounds pretty sweet if you ask me. Facebook is a nice place to have ads. Although some of them are a little annoying, like the “find hot Christians near you!” ads, lol

Mates i will give to you the nicest trick ever,it is working 4 me like a charm 4 how long i do not now but….200$ in free publicity withowt the cupon code.Here is the deal:you make an ad campagne insert everithing,the budget 200$ just a day ad(this is how i do it) at the end you will be asked to give your credit card information,well give all the informations but right after the completation delete the account.The ad will still remain bechose when you gived the C.Card informations you sent the ad 4 approvation,after 5 minutes they will approuve the ad but the C.card info…..
At the end of the day you will have all the ads but without paynd a dime:it will look like this at the transaction account:
