Getting More Forum Members

One of the hardest feats out there in online marketing is to start a new forum. Popular forums are great, stable websites. But how do you build one??

You need lots of good discussion to attract users, but you need lots of users to start the discussions… It’s the fabled “chicken or egg?” problem. One common method is to actually pay some people to post on your forum to get the ball rolling. But I just found another one, which more suitable to the standard internet marketing practices. ;)

Create a sales page for your forum!

Maybe it’s been done before, but this was the first forum I witnessed that used this cheesy technique. It makes you read a sales letter and then check a box to confirm your interest (and build up lots of suspense) before you are directed to the forum.

The site is conqueryourniche.com and you can see the forum here if you aren’t interested in the sales letter. Maybe this technique works, because there are quite a few members! (There’s also some sort of way to make money in the deal, so that could have something to do with it…)

But there’s one problem, and I’d expect better from a seasoned internet marketer… There is no email collection form! They need to add a signup form so that if you do not immediately register for the forum, they can blast you with emails telling you why you should register and post on the forum!

The New Way To Buy and Sell Websites

The old way of buying and selling websites was to post your ad on a few forums, or browse the forums looking at the sites listed for sale. That could take hours every day whether you are listing your site for sale everywhere you can, or seeing what sites are listed on what forum. Then if your site got a bid on one forum, you’d have to update all the others.

And that has not really changed. But at the same time, it is totally different today. How can that be?

If you have found the new website that is changing everything, you probably understand. If not, then you need to check out Bizmp. It combines all the sales threads from 20 of the biggest site selling forums into one location.

If you’re looking for a site to buy, just head on over to Bizmp.com and browse the list. When you find one you like, just click that link and you go right to that thread. It’s that simple.

If you’re selling, you don’t do anything different. Just the fact that Bizmp.com exists means that more potential buyers will see your listing!

The only thing to complain about is the fact that it is still in beta and I want to see the fully functional site!!

Arbitrage No More

Another good blog post I was checking out…

It’s from Shoemoney, and it’s all about Google cracking down on people doing some sort of arbitrage through Adwords.

See the full story at:

Blacklist Any Sites That Suck

Want to increase your Adsense earnings and provide a better experience for your visitors?

There is a simple fix that will do just that, and it has worked for me. It involves blacklisting any sites that suck. Pretty simple, and not really a new concept, but it is easier these days.

You just go to AdsBlacklist and put in your URL. It will generate a list of low-paying and/or MFA sites that you should put into your “Competitive Ad Filter” section in your Adsense account.

Instead of going into great detail, I’ll just refer you over to John Chow’s site. He has a blog post that covers pretty much everything, including a list of these crappy sites.

Get Rich With Paid Online Surveys

Creating this blog was not just something that hit me one day. It’s actually the product of many years of TV shows dealing with places that rip off consumers. I always loved the hidden camera views exposing crooks! I wanted in on the action, and I still do!

This isn’t the first thing I’ve done either…

It actually started almost two years ago when I purchased one of those “Get rich in your pajamas working at home taking paid online surveys for cash for just 2 hours per day!” websites. I didn’t believe it, but the book was sold through Clickbank, so I knew if it sucked I could get my money back ;).

So, I bought that for $35, and then realized what a huge waste it was!

I won’t go into detail here, because I don’t want to ruin the book… so I’ll show you what came from that:

The Truth Behind Paid Online Surveys - Exposed!

That’s right, I wrote my first actual ebook about my experience with that crap. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you probably know just what to expect!

I highly encourage you to check it out. It won’t take long to read and it’s totally free.

Fill Your Site With Content and Make Millions With Adsense! Guaranteed!

If only there was an easy way to get content for my sites, then I could make millions with Adsense!

Nope, sorry, it’s not that simple. There may be an easy way to get content, and you may be able to make millions with Adsense if you are extremely lucky, but they don’t fit together.

It goes along with that old wives tale about doing hard work to make money. How old fashioned…

The new rage is to simply buy a collection of pre-built sites such as the ones at MFA Warehouse. They are simply a bunch of articles reprinted from EzineArticles in a standard template. If you market them correctly and spend lots of money, you may make a little bit of that money back. Will it be easy? No. Is it worthwhile? Probably not.

This is a just a simple warning to anyone out there that is thinking of spending money on these pre-built sites: It may work, but it probably won’t! How shocking! :o

An Expensive Alternative

Isn’t it great when you really want something expensive, and right before you buy it, you find something just as good for free? I love that. (Now if you find it after shelling out lots of money, it definitely sucks…)

But on the other hand, it’s funny to see a product launch that is basically a paid version of something already available for free!

This product is called Wordpress Affiliate Pro. Before I start bashing it, I’ll admit that I have never used it or seen it in action. I’ve only read someone else’s review of it. And from what I’ve heard, it apparently allows you to add affiliate links in your blog without doing HTML coding. Sounds just like the AutoLinks plugin I already have, which works great, and it’s free!

So, I’ll have to pass on this new product. ;)

You can see the squeeze page at: http://www.wordpressaffiliatepro.com

Then if you fork over your email address, he’ll let you see an even longer sales letter! What a bargain! Then hand over a mere $67 and you might get the product… :-/
