Just a quick update:

I noticed Google was doing some PR updates, and I came across my site www.learnaholic.info, which happened to have a PR of 2 now. Ha. Let’s see how long it lasts.

Note/Update: For anyone who did not see the site, it was a stupid site full of general information on lots of topics. Lots of content, but it was all from EzineArticles. Just a fun experiment to see that you can indeed get PageRank on a site full of duplicate content.

To be fair though, the home page (which just linked to all the site sections) was unique.

Now that I have found IM NewsWatch, you can bet I’m going to use it for real. As far as looking for gurus promoting crap, yeah, I’ll definitely watch for that.

But I’ll also contribute to the site, submitting some articles or press releases. It’s free and could get me some good publicity. If you do anything with internet marketing, I’d suggest you do the same.

Wow, check out this new breakthrough! Move over milliondollarhomepage.com, where you failed, IM NewsWatch has hit the nail on the head!

At first glance, both sites may seem similar – the homepages are both cluttered with a lot of links to ripoff sites. But the difference is that IM News Watch links to sites and articles from all of the so-called Internet Gurus. That will ensure continued success…

Why?

Because 1) all the gurus are jealous that they didn’t make a quick million from a one-page site, deterring them from supporting milliondollarhomepage, and 2) the gurus will be happy to promote IM NewsWatch since it helps them out.

But don’t get me wrong, I think IMNewsWatch will be great. It will be an easy way for me to find stuff to blog about!

No longer will I have to subscribe to tons of email lists or RSS feeds and sift through my inbox for the suckiest stuff – I can simply scan the homepage of IM NewsWatch for some outrageous claims that are obviously bogus.

Other than that though, I haven’t looked at the site enough to see what there is. But if you look hard enough, you might find some legit info. At the very least, take a look at the Internet Marketing Photo Gallery with mugshots of all the gurus!

So, you’ve bought John Reese’s Traffic Secrets course and now you’re rich. But it turns out, you need more than money to enjoy life…

Well, John Reese comes to the rescue once again with his new course, Pimping Secrets. Now you can get pretty much everything you want!

Oh, and if you are one of those people that think Reese is just a guy selling re-hashed information, ya know, someone who isn’t teaching you from personal experience… this is proof that he has expertise in niches other than internet marketing!

So why did I just go and post about this piece of software I found yesterday, within an hour of first hearing about it?

It’s quite simple, really.

First off, I hadn’t posted for a while!

Second, they asked for a link! It’s that simple.

One good thing about putting out a quality free product is that people will generally tell their friends about it and/or link to it. But not everyone will, and a lot of people would, but just don’t think about it.

So take a lesson from VMN. They put a nice little box on the download page simply asking for a link. They make it easy to see the box and easy to place a link, since they give you the code right there. You probably noticed this if you did indeed download the software.

If you have a nice piece of software you’re giving out for free, start asking for a link back to your site. But be sure to make it noticeable!

Bonus lesson: While I’m talking about VMN, let me just say that they did a great job with their site. After seeing the animation with the screenshots, I couldn’t resist checking it out! If you can integrate something like that into your offer, do it!

I just found a 100% free way to make your life easier on the web! Now what makes this offer stand out is that it is not a free ebook, nor is it free keyword or site creation software garbage. It’s a real piece of software that does some neat little things, and appears to do them better than other tools.

VMN Toolbox offers: screen capture, color picker, sticky notes, magnifier, and virtual rulers. I haven’t installed this yet, but once I do, I’ll probably post an update on how it works.
