An Example Website

If you are wondering what kind of sites you can make with Desktop Adsense Cash Machine, here’s an example of something I did. Obviously I created the template myself, because the stock template is basically worthless. (Which is good - it forces you to create something unique.)

mortgageandrefinance.info

***2007 Update*** I no longer own this site, so what you are seeing these days is probably something new, if the site is up at all.

Personally I think that’s a decent looking site compared to some others. For the most part, you make a website template like you would for any site, then add in a couple variables so that the software knows where to put the articles. That’s it.

For my site, I used PHP to make use of includes. For a site that’s 1000+ pages, you sure don’t want to update each one by hand! The header, footer, navigation, and all the Adsense ads are in separate include files. That means I only have to edit one file to make sitewide changes. It works nicely :)

Once I got the hang of the software, it took about half an hour for each site. Time will vary based on a lot of factors, from your connection speed (the software has to pull in the articles and content from around the web) to the complexity of your site design (the more complex the design, the more time it takes you to make.)

So far, so good, right?

Wrong.

Apparently, the time that I feel like messing around with this software (figuring I could sell my test sites to recoup my costs) is the time that everyone decides not to buy stupid, scraped article sites like this! I’ll be lucky to make back my investment in the domain names!

(Yes, I could keep the sites and promote them, but I don’t want to. They suck! Plus, I have plenty of other sites that require my attention.)

I’m curious to see if this thing earns any ad revenue. Please keep us posted - !

I checked some stats today and it looks like the site is getting some visitors (how, I haven’t a clue.) Thing is, I never bothered to set up a channel in Adsense for this site, so I don’t know if it’s making any money…

    Chances are it isn’t.

I only see some link ads on the bottom of the site. Maybe if you added the contextual ads on the left navigation (blend it in with the rest of the links) you’ll earn more money? Neat layout design though! Good luck!
